What Recovery+ Actually Tastes Like

What It Actually Tastes Like.
Crystal-clear, carbonated, lightly tart, closer to a fruit soda than a milkshake. If you're expecting a milkshake, you're in the wrong place: there's no milkiness, no chalk, no shaker, and no heavy protein aftertaste, even with 20g of protein in every 250ml can.
What we won't tell you is the flavour. That stays sealed until you crack your Batch 001 can. Everything else is below, and it's how the Recovery+ Protocol drinks.
01
Texture and fizz

The body is thin and crisp, closer to sparkling water than to a shake. It pours clear, it fizzes like a soft drink, and it finishes clean. Nothing coats your mouth, nothing lingers, nothing needs shaking.
Serve it cold. Non-negotiable. Cold is where the fizz bites, the tartness brightens and the whole can makes sense. A warm can is a wasted can.
02
The sweet-tart character
The base is lightly tart and bright, juice-like, not creamy. The sweetness is zero-sugar (sucralose + acesulfame-K, within FSSAI limits) and reads clean and light, not syrupy. There's no sugar-heavy thickness because there's no sugar: zero, lab-tested.
03
What it's not
- Not milky. The protein is clear, not creamy.
- Not heavy. Crisp body, clean finish.
- Not chalky. Nothing gritty, nothing to stir.
- Not medicinal. It drinks like a drink, not a dose.
- Not syrupy. Zero sugar means zero syrup weight.

Why clear whey tastes like this
Ordinary whey turns cloudy and milky because its proteins clump together at a neutral pH. Bring the drink into fruit-juice-range acidity and the same proteins repel each other and stay dissolved, invisible and juice-clear. That's the trick: the protein is fully there, your tongue just can't find it. More on what's inside: the ingredients page.
05
So what flavour IS it?
We're not telling. On purpose. The flavour stays unnamed until Batch 001 lands, because describing it would spoil the first sip, and the first sip is the point. This isn't a gap in the page; it's the one thing we've decided you get to discover instead of read. 3,000 cans find out first.

FAQ
Does it taste like protein?
No, and that's the engineering. The 20g of protein is isolate-grade clear whey, the highest grade whey is sold in, dissolved invisibly, so there's no milky body and no protein aftertaste. If nobody told you, you wouldn't guess.
Is it fizzy like a soft drink?
Yes, both cans are properly carbonated. Crisp fizz, thin body, closer to sparkling water than a shake in the mouth.
What flavour is it?
Not telling, Batch 001 finds out first. Here's what we will tell you: it's bright, lightly tart and clean-sweet, and it drinks like a chilled fruit soda, not a milkshake.
Best way to drink it?
Cold, genuinely cold, straight from the fridge. Temperature does more for this can than anything else you control; cold sharpens the fizz and the tartness. Warm defeats it.
Why does zero-sugar sweetness taste different from sugar?
Because sugar carries weight, syrupy thickness and a mouth-coating finish, and sweeteners don't. Sucralose and acesulfame-K deliver the sweet note and then get out of the way, which is why the can reads clean and light. With a lightly tart base, that's a feature, not a compromise.
Does carbonated protein cause bloating?
Carbonation is dissolved CO2, and chugging any fizzy drink can make anyone feel briefly gassy, same as any soda. Sipped normally, most people notice nothing. The fibre in the cans has its own first-week story, and we cover it honestly on the week one on fibre page.
